Training Plan Agreement
Any student placed in a work setting, either paid or unpaid, should have an agreement signed by all parties. Most school districts have a approved form that has been used for Career Preparation/Coop classes.
During 2011, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) developed new samples of Paid and Unpaid Training Plans. The new training plans have changed the question asking if the Training Objective is considered to be a hazardous occupation. The training plan when viewed online has a link to the U. S. Department of Labor in the Wage and Hour Division to view the rules pertaining to hazardous occupations. NOTE: the link does go to the Department of Labor but states the "page is not found". A search of the website will find the rules. For the use on this website, please use the Child Labor Laws tab.
The new TEA Training Plans also contain a non-discrimination clause in both English and Spanish.
TEA also has prior samples of paid and unpaid Training Plans. There is a copy of the Child Labor Laws at the end of the Training Plan. Please be advised that those laws may have been modified since TEA posted this form.
